Wings of Condor! Ciao Angelo! Grazie tanto.
Angelo died whilst doing what he loved best- flying. On Sunday 26 March 2006, at 11.30, the light aircraft in which he was a passenger crashed near to the airfield at Comiso in Sicily; at the controls of the plane was an expert pilot, General De Marchis of the Italian Air Force.
The funeral was held on 28 March in the Cathedral in Catania, and was followed by a ceremony in City Hall.
In keeping with Angelo's ideals, and in remembrance of the generous free spirit that we knew and loved, the Fondazione Angelo d'Arrigo has been founded- a benevolent fund to help the less fortunate children that Angelo encountered during his many expeditions.

Van het ei tot vogel, d'Arrigo heeft twee van deze prachtige vogels groot getrokken, hij spreekt met hun, leert ze vliegen, jagen, alles was zij nodig hebben om zelfstandig te zijn en om te kunnen overleven in de wildernis.
